The Riga City Funeral Service notes that winter significantly increases the load on public utilities, so temporary restrictions on vehicle movement may be imposed in some areas. This may affect grave preparation, hearse delivery, and excavation work during severe frosts.
Experts recommend that relatives coordinate the date and time of burials with cemetery administrations and funeral homes in advance. If necessary, advance ceremony reservations are available to help avoid delays. Also, during the winter, security monitoring of paths and driveways is increased to ensure the comfort and safety of visitors.
