The Muslim Cemetery, established in 1890, is still used for Muslim burials in accordance with religious rites. Instead of a cross, the tombstones feature the Islamic symbol – the crescent moon. This cemetery also eventually became part of the St. Michael's Cemetery.

At the Mikela Cemetery in Riga, only reburials with a coffin and urn are permitted within plots where relatives were previously buried. A second burial with a coffin can be performed at least 20 years after the previous burial, and with an urn at any time, regardless of sanitary deadlines.
This necropolis does not allow for the creation of new burials; only second burials with a coffin or the burial of ashes in an urn in existing relatives' graves are practiced here.
