The total area of the cemetery is 55.27 hectares. It is managed by the Riga City Municipality.
The civilian cemetery includes a military section where 181 servicemen were buried in 1944: 165 known and 16 unknown. An obelisk stands over the graves with the inscription: "ETERNAL GLORY TO THE HEROES OF THE SOVIET ARMY WHO FELL IN BATTLE IN THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR DURING THE LIBERATION OF SOVIET LATVIA. 1941-1944." Six memorial plaques with names have also been installed.

The cemetery no longer offers open burial plots, but it is possible to arrange a second burial in a family plot.
Second burial plots in family graves are provided free of charge, however, the associated work of dismantling and restoring the grave structures on site is an additional fee.
In addition, the cemetery on Lubānas Street offers a range of paid services, the cost of which varies depending on the scope and complexity of the work performed.
A reburial in an existing grave requires a twenty-year sanitary period, but urn burials do not require this period.
To obtain a burial permit, you must provide the Lubānas Street Cemetery administration with a death certificate, documents confirming relationship, an application from the person responsible for organizing the funeral, and their personal documents. All document and procedural requirements are regulated by the relevant government decree.
